If you’ve worked in any corporate setting before, chances are that you’ve heard how important it is to practice safety in the workplace. From lockout tagout to proper forklift operation, we’re all aware that following the right safety protocols is crucial to our day-to-day survival and well-being; however, even if you’re constantly dotting your I’s and crossing your T’s, you may still be neglecting another important safety rule: vigilance.

No, we’re not talking about “see something? Say something;” we’re talking about safety signs. Are you using the right ones?

Why You Need Safety Signs In The Workplace

In most states, proper signage is required by law, but beyond that, signs inform people quickly of hazardous conditions and important rules. For example, If you work at a place that gets visited often by customers and clients, it’s in your best interest to make sure they know which areas are off limits, and why. This sign will keep the most curious wanderer at bay.  If you work in a warehouse, having something like this Caution sign in plain sight would be ideal:

Keeping Coworkers Safe

We all have a moral duty to keep our co workers safe from harm. Unlike customers and clients, co workers can get in the habit of neglecting safety rules that apply to their day-to-day work. This hard hat sign helps to remind everyone of this seemingly minor, yet important rule:
